The rising star boasts impressive social media audience
The young golfer will have numerous high-profile cheerleaders when she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, operates several international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that Trump, who won't be present, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"He practically advised me to play and relax," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in just three tournaments this year and has ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
However she's able to receive tips from golf legend, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He stands as the greatest golfer globally," Kai stated.
"And he's an even better person. He told me to play, enjoy myself, and go with the flow."
Kai will face multiple most prominent players in women's golf at this tournament, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that her participation brings the sport to different demographics, particularly reaching younger fans.
Kai boasts substantial online presence and recently launched her own apparel and wellness company.
Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
