British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans had expressed its support for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
